The Institute got its name from G. O. v. d. Klashorst - and was established in the Pieter Pauw Hospital in the year 1958 in Wageningen (the Netherlands).
This very special situation offered a splendid co-operation with most medical directions and should long till 1993. Soon after the beginning, G.O.v.d.Klashorst introduced the Dispokinesis into physiotherapy treatments as in clinical rehabilitation programs in the hospital as for policlinic general patients and for pedagogical goals by workshops for conservatory.
In 1965 the Institute worked principally with 5 groups of patients:
- therapeutic department for musicians with playing problems
- with playing problems
- a department for children with motorically problems
- general department for clinical and policlinic patients
- and a special department for treatment of Whiplash patients also
In the seventy's, the Director of the Institute has been asked to introduce the Dispokinesis as a teacher at the Sweelinck Conservatory at Amsterdam.
A co-operation with the neurological department of the Academic Medical Centre (AMC) started and should last 10 years. The goal of this cooperation was to treat this group of traumatically injured patients with chiropractic measurements and Dispokinesis,
(Re-establishment of the personal posture) in one hand.

After reorganisation in 1980 the staff existed at 8 specialised physiotherapists on the above mentioned branches.
In 1972 the Institute started an advisory group of specialists for Investigating and Formulating Strategies for motor-retarded children in the region. The advisory group consist of: a paediatrician, a psychologist, a neurologist, a specialised Physiotherapist, a paediatric-physiotherapist, a school-doctor out of the region and a secretary. Training's of retarded children became a deeper foundation and took for the greater part place in the Institute van de Klashorst, at that time.
Because of age limited reasons G.O.v.d.Klashorst moved out to Germany in 1991 and founded the German Center for Dispokinesis to Oberhausen-Sterkrade. Later the International Centre for Dispokinesis was founded for global goals.
